More about Kayla
Kayla has a Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Lethbridge, and she is a Registered Provisional Psychologist #2541p. She was born and raised in Lethbridge and met her husband here in 2010. She knew becoming a psychologist was her dream while volunteering for Victim Services and working for the University of Lethbridge as a student recruitment officer. She enjoys spending time with her family and going on walks in the coulee. In the winter, you can almost always find her and Cinder under a blanket with a good book or movie and Penelope close beside them.
Animal-Assisted Therapy is just one of the many modalities Kayla uses while working with clients. Currently, Kayla has two dogs who can work with clients whose goals and personalities match with the dog attributes. Penelope, the Cavapoo, and Cinder, the Pomchi, are pictured below. Kayla also has access to Equine Facilitated Therapy located just 10 min from downtown Lethbridge. If you are interested specifically in Animal-Assisted Therapy and want to know more about what it entails, and if your counselling needs could be met using this modality please contact us.
